THE CROCHET LACE EDGING
There are many various crochet lace edgings to choose from, but this one can be suitable for decorating your cloth throws, blankets, cushions, and also can be a great gift for Mother’s Day. This crochet lace edging pattern uses chains along with double and treble crochet stitches to create beautiful designs.

Materials
To create this pattern, you will need a crochet hook of 1.75 mm, Lace weight yarn, rings with 2.5 cm diameter, and scissors.
Abbreviations:
- Chain(s) = Ch
- Double crochet = Dc
- Treble crochet = Tr
- Double treble crochet = Dtr
- Single crochet = Sc
- Sl st = Slip stitch
- Back post single crochet = Bpsc
- Stitch = st
Pattern of Crochet Lace Edging
– With first color, working across the ring, yarn over the hook, insert hook into the ring, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (first dc made), 16 dc into the ring, *bring another ring, working across the ring, yarn over the hook, insert hook into the ring, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (first dc made), 16 dc into the ring *, repeat* into the new ring for 4 times, bring another ring, working across the ring, yarn over the hook, insert hook into the ring, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (first dc made), 15 dc into the ring, yarn over, insert hook in the same ring, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, pull up a loop through the 2 remaining loops with second color, 17dc into the ring, **sc between 2 rings (in the connected st between 2 rings), 17 dc into the next ring**, repeat ** 4 times, sl st to the first st in the round, fasten off.
– With first color, ch9, sl st to the first ch to form a ring, ch5, dc into the ring, *ch2, dc into the ring*, repeat * 6 times, ch2, sl st in 3rd ch of ch5 at the beginning of the round.
– Sc in the same space, ch2, 3dc into the same space, ch2, sc in the same space, *(sc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, sc) in the next space*, repeat * across the round.
– Ch1, bpsc in the corresponding dc 2 rows down, ch4, *bpsc in the corresponding dc 2 rows down, ch4*, repeat * 6 times, sl st to the first st to join.
– With green color, insert yarn at any ch4 space from previous round, *(sc, ch2, 2dc, 2tr, dtr) in the same space, ch3, sc in the base ch (first ch of ch3 (picot st)), working across the last dtr, 6sc across it*, repeat * for one more time in the next space, (sc, ch2, 2dc, 2tr, dtr) in the next space, ch1, insert hook in the 9th st of the white stitches in the first ring, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2loops, sc in the base ch, working across the last dtr, 6sc across it, **(sc, ch2, 2dc, 2tr, dtr) in the next space, ch1, insert hook in the 9th st of the white stitches in the next ring, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2loops, sc in the base ch, working across the last dtr, 6sc across it**, repeat ** across the round. [8 leaves]
– Repeat all previous steps until reach the desired length; here we stopped at 3 motifs only.
Borders for the motif around the second color: with first color, insert hook in the first st of second color in the first ring, sl st in the same st, *ch1, sl st in the next st*, repeat * across the first ring until reach the last st of second color, ch1, sl st in the last st, ch1, **sl st in the first st of the next ring, repeat * across until reach the last st, ch1, sl st in the last st, ch1**, repeat ** across the remaining rings, Fasten off.
For the second motif, we will join 2 motifs together by making the previous step but while working in the first ring, repeat * for 7 times only, insert hook in the corresponding st in the first motif, sl st across the 2 motifs, ch1, sl st in the next st in the previous motif, insert hook in the corresponding st in the first motif, sl st across the 2 motifs, continue using this way for the remaining rings.
– Repeat previous step for the next motifs.
Now we will work across the top of the lace pattern, starting from right side, and insert hook in the 5th st of second color, ch5, skip 2 st, sc in the next st, **[* ch11, sc in the next picot st of the next leaf, ch11, sc in the next picot st of the next leaf, ch11, sc in 3rd st of second color sts in the next ring]**, ch11, sc in 3rd st of second color sts in the next ring*, repeat * across the top of the pattern until reach the last motif, repeat ** for one time, ch2, skip next 2st, dc in the last st.
– Ch5, turn, skip 2ch, dc in the next ch, *ch2, skip next 2ch, dc in the next ch*, repeat * across the row.
– Ch5, turn, skip first space, dc in the next st, *ch2, skip next space, dc in the next st*, repeat * across the row.
– Repeat previous row, fasten off.
