While the beads stitch pattern may seem a little challenging to make, the lovely final product will make all of that effort and patience worthwhile.
What makes the beads stitch unique is that each “bead” contains two stitches and is worked in two parts. This is how it gets that amazing bumpy texture. To get started with the beads stitch, you must first double crochet. After you have completed this, work around the double crochet you just made. Although this may seem complicated at first, you will definitely get the hang of it.
Are you still having trouble with the beads stitch? You must know that it is worked the same way as the extended single crochet but with one extra extension. The bumpy texture gives the beads stitch its especial design – it is created by this extra extension.
Another way you could make a beads stitch project is using extended single crochet and the slanting clusters to make that bumpy structure. Whatever method you choose and whichever of these projects you pursue, I promise you will love creating this fun beads stitch.

Hi. I am new to crocheting. My biggest difficulty is knowing what chain to begin with and end in the foundation chain. When u finish ur foundation chain and turn it ready for the next row…u mention to skip first chain. I am assuming that is the one next to the the loop on the chain. When you reach the end of your first row, are you counting the original loop off the hook as a stitch and therefore working a stitch in there as well.
Thank you
Pat
