Materials
To create this crochet criss cross pattern, you will need a crochet hook of 2 mm and any DK weight yarn; you need to use two colors.
Abbreviations:
- Chain(s) = Ch
- Half double crochet = Hdc
- Double crochet = Dc
- Slip stitch = Sl st
- Stitch = St
Pattern of Criss cross Stitch
– With the first color, make a slip knot, start with # of chains equal to the desired length for the blanket.
Row 1: dc in the 5th ch from hook, *ch1, skip next ch, dc in the next ch*, repeat * across the chains until the end.
Row 2: ch4, turn, dc above the next dc from the previous row, *ch1, dc above the next dc from previous row*, repeat * across the row, change to the second color in the last st of the row.
Row 3: ch4, turn, dc above the next dc from previous row, ch5, sl st to the previous dc from row1 (first dc in the row), ch1, 7hdc in the ch-5 space, *dc above the next dc from the previous row, ch1, dc in the next dc from previous row, ch5, sl st to the previous dc from row1, ch1, 7hdc in the ch-5 space*, repeat * across the row until the end, ch1, dc above the last dc from previous row, change to the first color in the last st of the row.
