Continuing the series of free granny square patterns, today I want to show you a very particular one, the kind where each row is a new color!

In the center of this granny square pattern is designed a beautiful flower, that gives a magic touch on the design of this decor.

There are a few different ways to achieve this kind of granny square, but I want to show you all the stops, and share the way that I think gives the most seamless, perfect looking result.

I wrote a very detailed pattern for this multicolor granny square. This pattern is a little bit complicated, but I tried to explain everything so you can easily make this granny square.

The video tutorial is made by TEJIDOS OLGA HUAMAN and shows you step by step how to make the flower granny square.

Crochet Granny Square Pattern:

Materials:

– Crochet Hook Nr 2 Crochet Hook 
– Nr 20 Yarn

Abbreviations:

CN – Chain
Sl-st – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
ST – Stitch

Granny Square Pattern Part 1:

#1 Crochet CN 8 with DC, to create the working circle.

#2 DC the same length as the 8th chains.

#3 DC the same length of the 5th chain. Make 12 squares with CN 2, double crocheted.

#4 Start from #2, behind the decor. Crochet 12 squares with CN 2 slip stitched. Next, SC 8 on the same length of the 4th chain.

#5 Crochet 12 arches single crocheted, the same length of the 2nd chain. Each arch is formed by SC 6.

Granny Square Pattern Part 2:

#6 Crochet 12 squares with CN 4 slip stitched. The grab is done in order to crochet the squares behind the arches of #5, as shown in the video.

#7 12 arches single crocheted, the same length of the 2nd chain. Each arch is formed by SC 8.

#8 Crochet 12 squares with CN 4 slip stitched. The grab is done in order to crochet the squares behind the arches of #7.

#9 Crochet 1 row Sl-ST. The crochet is made on the other side of the decor, as shown in the video.

#10 Crochet 4 triangles, on the other side of the decor. Every triangle is made by:

1. DC 3, 2 squares with 2 CN double crocheted
2. DC 2, 1 squares with 2 CN double crocheted
3. DC 1. On one DC, crochet DC 3

#11 Crochet 3 rows SC. Every row is made by: Sl-st 1, SC 1, Sl-sc 1.

#12 Crochet 4 rows SC.

This way you can make a beautiful flower granny square. You can use every yarn you wish, so I didn’t explained the sequence of the colors.
