To create this crochet honeycomb stitch, you will need a crochet hook of 4.5 mm and fine weight yarn.
Pattern of Crochet Honeycomb Stitch
– Make a slip knot; start with odd number of chains as wide as your desired piece; here we start with chain 19.
– Insert hook into the 1st chain, pull up a loop and keep on hook, insert hook in the next chain, pull up a loop and keep on hook, continue this way across until the end; keeping all loops on the hook. [here you have 19 loops on your hook]
– Yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, continue this way across until the end. [here you have 1 loop on your hook]
– Insert hook in the next vertical 2 loops, pull up a loop and keep on hook (2 loops on your hook), *put yarn in front of hook, insert hook in the next 2 vertical stitches, pull up a loop*, repeat * until reach the last 2 loops, put yarn in front of hook, insert hook in the next vertical loop, pull up a loop, insert hook in the last loop, pull up a loop. [here you have 19 loops on your hook]
– Repeat step 3.
– Insert hook in the first vertical loop, pull up a loop and keep on hook, insert hook in the next 2 vertical loops, pull up a loop (3 loops on your hook),*put yarn in front of hook, insert hook in the next 2 vertical loops, pull up a loop*, repeat * until reach the last loop, put yarn in front of hook, insert hook in the last loop, pull up a loop. – Repeat step 3.
– Repeat from step 4 to 7 until reach the desired length.
