To create this crochet square basket, you will need a crochet hook of 5 mm, polyester cord with thickness 5mm, and stitch markers.

Pattern of Crochet Square Basket

– Magic ring, 8 single crochet in the ring, slip stitch to the first single crochet. [8 stitches]

– Chain 1, *3 single crochet in the next stitch, single crochet in the next stitch*, repeat * across the round, slip stitch to the first single crochet. [16 stitches]

– Here you need to put stitch markers in the middle stitch of the 3 single crochet stitch. (Corner points)

– Chain 1, single crochet in the next stitch until reach the first corner (first marker place), 3 single crochet in the next stitch (first corner), single crochet in the next stitch until reach the next corner, *3 single crochet in the next stitch, single crochet in the next stitch until reach the next corner*, repeat * for one more time, 3 single crochet in the next corner, single crochet in the next stitch till the end, slip stitch to the first single crochet in the round. [24 stitches]

– Continue using this sequence until reach the desired dimensions of the base you need.

– Let’s move to the sides part, put stitch marker in each corner of the base.

 

– Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch until reach the first corner, single crochet decrease in the stitch of the corner and the next stitch, *single crochet in each stitch until reach the next corner, single crochet decrease in the stitch of the corner and the next stitch*, repeat * for two more times, single crochet in each stitch till the end, slip stitch to the first single crochet in the round.

– Chain 1, single crochet across the round, slip stitch to the first single crochet in the round.

– Repeat the previous round until reach the desired height of the basket.

– Now we need to put stitch marker in each corner of the basket.

– Chain 1, single crochet in the next stitch until reach the first corner, 2 single crochet in the next 2 stitches, *single crochet in the next stitch until reach the next corner, 2 single crochet in the next 2 stitches*, repeat * for two more times, single crochet in the next stitch till the end, slip stitch to the first single crochet in the round.

– Repeat the previous round for 4 more times, fasten off and weave in all ends.
