How to make Crochet Wave Stitch
To create this beautiful pattern you will need a crochet hook of 1.6mm and yarn in green and white color. You can also choose the colors according to your choice.
Make a chain of 26 chain stitches. Now, you will make 24 single crochet stitches in each chain stitch. Make 4 single crochet stitches in the next row. Then, make a chain of 7 chain stitches. Insert this chain in the 4th single crochet stitch of the row. Repeat making the chain of 7 stitches and inserting it into the next 4th single crochet of the row. Repeat this pattern till the end of the row. You will get 4 wave stitches.
Time to switch the color. Now, we will switch to white yarn. Make 4 single crochet stitches and a chain of 7 chain stitches. Insert this chain in the single crochet stitch row just beneath your 1st crochet wave stitch (which we made using green color yarn)
Your 1st crochet wave stitch in white yarn is ready. Make another chain of 7 chain stitches and insert it on the single crochet row just under the 2nd crochet wave stitch in green color yarn.
In this way, make 4 crochet wave stitches and close the row by making 4 single crochet. Just like you made in the beginning of row.
Switch color whenever you are starting a new row.
This stitch also provides room for creativity. You can also add a new different color for each row, as per your choice.

I really love this stitch, and I love how stretchy it is. I’d like to use it in the next blanket I make. The problem is I can’t see how I could form it into a block with a solid top. I’d like the top to mirror the bottom with a final row of half double crochet in the green. Is there a simple way this can be done?

Try 3 or 4 sc in each chain loop across.

She is using crochet thread for this project dear. But you can use any type of yarn that you want along with a matching hook of your preference. So, if you want to use a 4 weight acrylic yarn and a 3mm hook instead of a 4mm hook you could do that. It’s you’re project dear make it how ever you want it to be. Creativity is the key. All she’s is doing is just showing you how to do the design dear. I hope that this helps you.

Good evening to you.
