Lean The Bullion Stitch Crochet Pattern

Today you will walk through the bullion stitch, a fancy, semi-difficult and very popular stitch. The bullion stitch is also called the master stitch and it is a design that I highly recommend learning how to crochet!

WHAT CAN YOU MAKE WITH THE BULLION STITCH CROCHET?

You can use this gorgeous stitch to make bullion stitch flowers or a lace placemat pattern to decorate your nightstand. You can also adorn your coffee table with a few gorgeous complimentary crochet coasters. As for your outfit of the day, wear a stylish headband or a pair of bullion stitch fingerless gloves. What makes the bullion stitch somewhat difficult to work is the wrapping of yarn many times around the hook.

You also have to decide what yarn to use best for your crochet project such as worsted weight yarn or bulky yarn and if you plan to add more loops for the puffy effect.

These complex stitches are difficult to work and will require a lot of patience, but the beautiful final result will make every minute of effort worth it.

For a beginner or intermediate bullion stitch crochet, I highly recommend crocheting a cowl. The bullion stitch cowl is not hard to make and all you need is some worsted weight yarn and a hook size: I/9-5.50mm. When you think you have finished, measure the cowl as it lays flat on the floor. It should be able 15″ long and 9″ high, or you can crochet any length you want depending on how you wish to wear the cowl.

The best time to snuggle with a fashionable cowl is during the chilly seasons such as in the spring, fall, or cold winter weather. And, if you want to make your cowl extra thick, use Bulky yarn to make it puff up and thicker than the worsted weight yarn.
